40 Years Since the Launch of the First Multi Cota
Anniversary of Our Fast Tablet Coating System
Although Cronimo had been working since 1963 in the production of stainless steel equipment focused on solid dosage processes, 1986 marked a milestone in its history. In response to the growing demand from both the local and international pharmaceutical industry, the company undertook a technological shift, moving from traditional systems to film coating processes, developing perforated pan equipment to replace sugar coating systems and other conventional methods of the time.
This technological transition involved a profound transformation in the process: by moving from alcoholic solvents to aqueous coatings, it became necessary to improve air exchange and heat transfer, achieving greater drying efficiency through the incorporation of perforated pans. This optimized moisture removal, increased process speed, and enhanced the final product quality.
Since then, Multi Cota has been one of our flagship products. It has maintained its robust structure and high-quality construction while incorporating new technologies that have evolved over the past four decades, continuously optimizing its operation and performance.
Multi Cota is a fast coating system for tablets, suitable for both aqueous and organic coatings.
The coating system consists of a continuously perforated coating pan made of AISI 316L stainless steel, air handling units for both supply and exhaust, and a coating kit (comprising a variable-speed peristaltic pump and spray guns, fully manufactured in stainless steel).
The operating capacity ranges from 2 to 1000 liters, depending on the model.
Main Features:
- Designed in accordance with GMP criteria, complying with FPD (Free of Paint Design) requirements.
- Structure and base made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
- Fully welded interior, facilitating cleaning processes.
- Allows different baffle designs, made of mirror-polished AISI 316L stainless steel to ensure smoother and more uniform tablet movement. Easy to clean, with no inaccessible areas.
- Available as self-contained units or with remote air handling systems.
- Exhaust system with self-cleaning cartridges and final HEPA filter.
- Atomization flow rate and spray angle of each gun can be adjusted externally via a control panel with individual flow meters.
- Supports anything from a simple PLC-based control system to a more sophisticated solution compliant with CFR 21 Part 11 requirements.
Optional Features:
- Wash-in-Place (WIP) system
- Cooling module in the air supply unit
- Humidity measurement and recording system
- HEPA filters in both air supply and exhaust
- Automatic air flow control
- Tubular baffles
- “Rabbit ear” baffle design
- Tablet loading and unloading system
- In-wall design
- Stack silencer
- Documentation for FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ qualification
